EDI Specialist

Working closely with the Director, Business Solutions and Innovation, the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Specialist will play a key role in the lifecycle of projects related to data exchange flows. From analyzing functional requirements to validating and deploying solutions, the incumbent will act as a bridge between business and development teams, ensuring that EDI solutions meet client requirements and comply with functional and technical standards.

MAIN TASKS

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Business Analysts to clearly understand issues related to EDI data exchanges and business processes;
  • Meet with internal and external clients to gather and validate information required for EDI process analysis and integration flow design;
  • Produce statements of work, process documentation, and functional specifications related to EDI development and integrations;
  • Ensure, in accordance with established methodology, the supervision and validation of developed solutions to guarantee alignment with business needs, and functional standards;
  • Participate in functional testing, plan and lead tests, and perform application validations;
  • Ensure the quality, standardization, and stability of EDI processes, and propose continuous improvements;
  • Present developments internally and externally;
  • Provide technical support to users on EDI-related matters;
  • Monitor billing and development budget management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent analytical skills and strong ability to manage organizational business processes;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes under tight deadlines;
  • Outstanding internal/external customer-oriented approcach, focused on support and problem-solving;
  • Strong adaptability to unforeseen situations;
  • Ability to deliver training and clearly explain processes to clients;
  • Excellent initiative and teamwork skills.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in functional analysis and/or programming and/or business analysis, with strong complex problem-solving skills;
  • In-dept knowledge of ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML standards, as well as data exchange flow design and management;
  • Excellent understanding of infrastructures and systems;
  • Knowledge of IT operations management, SQL environments, and SOA;
  • Experience with EDI middleware or integration platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, Cleo, MuleSoft, Boomi, SPS Commerce) and knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs;
  • Good understanding of ERP processes and SME operations;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English. An advanced level of English is required for this position, as the EDI Specialist will regularly collaborate with our English-speaking clientele;
  • Knowledge of GoF disgn patterns is an asset.
